The Supreme Court has handed down judgement in the Covid-19 Business Interruption Test Case
The Supreme Court has today handed down its judgement in the Covid-19 Business Interruption insurance test case of The Financial Conduct Authority v Arch and Others.
The press summary of the judgement can be viewed here https://www.supremecourt.uk/cases/docs/uksc-2020-0177-press-summary.pdf
On first viewing, it does seem the Supreme Court has supported the Financial Conduct Authority’s proceedings on most issues. This may give some comfort to certain policyholders that had purchased an unspecified diseases extension.
We are relieved that this long running legal case has finally been brought to a conclusion.
We will now review the findings in detail and work with insurers to identify any of our policyholders that may be affected as a result of the judgement.
